Net Zero Target

Sustainability Initiatives
As a leading UK based transport haulier, Jays are committed to improving our operational efficiencies across the business, to enhance not only our environmental impact but also our ethical labour practices.
We are monitoring various aspects of our business to seek areas of improvement and upgrade. We are also constantly evaluating our own suppliers /supply chain to actively work towards shared goals with suppliers for both environmental and social topics.
As a business Jays are committed to hit our Net Zero target by 2050. Based on our initial projections we aim to hit 3%* year on year carbon reduction through to 2027 and 5%* year on year estimated reduction from 2028 onwards.

Climate Action
Jays Logistics have already started their journey to Net Zero with gusto. Accreditation with Ecovadis and the implementation of initiatives such as the use of AdBlue and ElimiNOX along with introducing a paper light policy in the office has ensured a show of force toward achieving their carbon reduction goals.
Although their first estimation for a Net Zero target of 2050 seems far off, this is a worst-case scenario that does not include any further carbon reduction initiatives.
Moving to a second-generation biofuel such as HVO and / or implementing solar energy use, Jays Net Zero target will be brought forward almost overnight, there would be the added benefit of reducing the costs of carbon credits too.
Along with Ecovadis reporting, Jays are also about to implement ISO14001 environmental management to ensure that the momentum is maintained on their journey to improved sustainability and Net Zero.

Hear from Jays Logistics
"Myself and Steve Gumm – our Transport and Compliance manager - went down to the site in 2024 to get a first hand look at the scale of what work is being done down at Honeygar. The work and research being completed on the site is key for lowland peatland restoration, prevention of greenhouse gas release and increases to both water quality and local wildlife ecosystems."
